to the ends of the earth...

i think i'm averaging about 5-6 hours of sleep ever since the centennial cocktail project. i dunno why but i can't seem to fall asleep until well after 12am (no matter what time i go to bed). what is wrong with me? i think i need to get them eye shades that caleb raves about.

but for all the late-nites, the weekend was well worth it! the 1920s party was a huge success! it was so nice to see everyone all dressed up and having a good time...it kinda reminded me of prom actually. and of course, i never remember to charge my camera battery so i don't have any pics from the weekend. but alas, i stole one from j.chow to make up for it.

canadians represent, yo!

on Sunday, we went out for lunch after the Christmas pageant and it was so great to have no agenda and just chilax with your friends. the weather was so nice outside so we just bought some xing ba ke and sat at the ifc podium and basked in the semi-sunlight. hk winter is definitely my favorite part of the whole year.

i did not intend to go to the evening service that nite but i am so glad i did. i love being ministered to through worship and God sealed something in my heart that i've been thinking about for the past two weeks.

ever since i was a kid, i've always been a pretty independent person. i never cried on my first day of kindergarten. i never got homesick when i was away at summer camp. i always wanted to move out right after high school to attend university and i always wanted to do things on my own (if I can).

living in hk for the past 1.5 years and experiencing God's plan unfolding in life, i've never really doubted being here but sometimes, i do have those moments where my mind wonders. december is especially hard because of the whole Christmas and spending time with family thing. i dunno if it's because i'm getting older, or seeing my parents and grandparents getting older or realizing certain truths about growing pains and being independent, i really do miss being a part of their lives and they in mine.

but as much as this tugs on my heart strings, i know i am suppose to be here right now and these kinds of sacrifices will only help us to understand more fully the calling He has placed on all of our lives. and to know i have my fellowship of sams, merrys, aragorns and legolas to help me fight the fight and keep me in line, it makes the whole process that much more worthwhile. i love you guys.

(and yes, i had to use wikipedia for all those lord of the rings names)

Love unfailing
Overtaking my heart
You take me in
Finding peace again
Fear is lost in all You are

And I would give the world to tell Your story
Cause I know that You've called me
I know that You've called me
I've lost myself for good within Your promise
I won't hide it
I won't hide it

Jesus, I believe in You
And I would go to the ends of the earth
To the ends of the earth
For You alone are the Son of God
And all the world will see
That You are God
You are God.

i'm giving a special shoutout to my dad because i forgot his birthday this year (first in 25 years...i can't believe that!!). business is definitely NOT an excuse...and i think he reads my blog so "Hi Dad!"
