let's get digital...

i finally have internet access! hurrah!

and here are some random and not so deep thoughts...

1) it finally stopped raining in hk. now the weather here is a blazin' 32 degrees. i don't know which one i like more- the continuous rain with cooler temp or no rain with monster humidity.

2) the disparity between rich and poor is huge in hk

3) HK girls are so effing skinny! 80% of all advertisements in HK (magazines, buses, TVs and MTRs) are for dieting and 'slimming' products. i've definately become more body conscious as a result which is something i've never even thought about in Vancouver. but don't worry, i'm not a sucker for those kind of thinking anyways. for those who know me, i love food way too much to be 95 pounds.

4) space in hk is expensive! i looked at a few apartments for rent with my friend Wing the other day and a 400 square feet apartment can easily go for $4000 HKD which is around $650 Canadian. with that amount you can get a pretty nice place in Kits but it definately doesn't give you much in HK.

5) shopping in HK is fabulous! a dollar goes a long way here. $100 CDN can't really buy you much but the equivalent of it in HK can buy you loads! i've contributed greatly to the Hong Kong Shopping Festival (i'm a sucker for shoes and bags) and hopefully i'll be able to post some pics soon with my new baby shown below...
