on a happier note...
We had our Africa Awareness wrap-up dinner at Tropika this evening. What a fabulous time it was. I had such a great time working with these strong and able ladies for the past several months and gained so many valuable life experiences from them. And as a result of everybody's hard work, UBC is in the progress of implementing an African Studies minor program thru the Arts department. Congrats to Jo-Ann and Ruth who will be taking over for Veronica as chair of Africa Awareness!
The most amazing thing happened at the restaurant tonite. Out of nowhere, we had TWO bottles of wine delivered to us from the next table. The lovely people sitting next to ours was a group made up of some UT and UBC alumnis and their friends and family from Sweden and Africa. They had the cutest kids named Grant (5) and Claire (3) that came and sat at our table and shared our desserts.
What a great evening.
The bandaid is definately coming off.
